This book documents Gary Tu's creative journey and passion over the past four years, exploring watercolor techniques, expressing a fashion-forward artistic perspective, and delving into the challenges and decisions in the art industry entrepreneurship.

With an AVANT-GARDE attitude in the realm of art and various fields, he establishes his unique style. Drawing from the fusion of cultures between Taiwan and Paris, inspired by his experiences during travels abroad, he reflects on the exhibition「Taiwan, My Hometown; Paris, My Backyard」held before the pandemic in Taiwan.

「To break through the present situation, one must confront challenges from all angles. Even though art and fashion might face difficulties in Taiwan, we cannot merely conform to the market's direction. We must overcome everything with a pioneer's mindset.」

Book Content:

This book features a selection of past classic series, categorized under the two main themes of「IN BEAUTY」and「IN FASHION」. "IN BEAUTY" presents various depictions and roles of women, showcasing diverse expressions. On the other hand, "IN FASHION" authentically captures the interaction between models' body language, clothing, and physical dynamics, portraying the elegant facets that can be portrayed through the medium of watercolor. Using this medium's spontaneous vocabulary, it bridges the realms of fashion and art.

Maintaining a high standard, the book includes recent years' creative discussions, exhibition processes, and business operations, all captured using the world-class top-tier PHASE ONE IQ180 digital back, scanned using the German Cruse high-end platform scanner for digital archiving, with professional color consultants adhering to international standard color separation. Top-notch printing faithfully reproduces the delicate brushstrokes of watercolors, ensuring no distortion and retaining the original essence.

This design differs from the previous use of the Didot font, providing a completely different reading experience compared to the previous volume. Classic and timeless, exuding a strong「AVANT-GARDE」spirit, this design places the awareness of the artworks and the creator's inner self above the pieces. You're welcome to delve into Gary Tu's creative journey.

The precise proportions of the typeface illustrations and the elegant layout exude a generous charm. In terms of craftsmanship, textured art paper is used for full-page printing and bound in a hardcover format, while the textual parts are finished with embossed white. The creator's signature design is placed at the bottom right of the cover, emanating an effortlessly sophisticated vibe.
